Timothy J. McPoland
Timothy J. McPoland CPA, ABV, CFE, CVA has taken the role of Director of Business Operations. He brings a wealth of experience as a Certified Fraud Examiner, and professional fraud analyst to assist in understanding complex data breaches, digital due diligence, crypto fraud, and other digital transactions to assist the Firm in litigation, regulatory, and counseling persons and organizations.
Seasoned fraud, accounting and finance leader, Tim McPoland holds numerous professional certifications including CPA, CFE, ABV, and CVA with decades of risk management experience and compliance leadership.
Tim’s broad background of experience in manufacturing, education, construction, finance, banking, technology, real estate, retail, nonprofit, private equity, and service industries is an invaluable asset to the Firm and its clients.
He has worked on SEC and regulatory accounting matters, merger and acquisition due diligence and consulting, strategic risk mitigation business planning, forensic accounting, valuation, and digital technology evaluation. He assists incident matters in understanding reporting obligations, fraud analysis and project management efforts.
Tim is an active member in the community, sitting on many boards and volunteering his time.
Neeharika Thuravil
Neeharika Thuravil has taken on the role of J.D. Law Clerk. She is a programmer with deep experience in data security and privacy, space law, Neeharika has a B.S. in astrophysics and an IB Diploma in physics and mathematics. She also has her Juris Doctorate in privacy and security and has worked as a privacy and security analyst for global brands.
Neeharika Thuravil is a Law Clerk at The Beckage Firm, bringing her expertise in technology and law to the practice of data privacy and cybersecurity law. Her work with multiple organizations, including NBCUniversal, Google, Unity, and Kuma as a privacy analyst, has diversified her experience and informed her perspective as she contributes to the field. Neeharika possesses a deep understanding of the legal landscape surrounding data privacy, particularly in the healthcare and entertainment spaces, while her experience in data technology allows her to translate complex technological concepts into practical legal solutions.
She has experience in technical analysis of privacy compliance with regulations and frameworks such as NIST Privacy and Cybersecurity Frameworks, NIST 800-53, MARS-E, AICPA Privacy Maturity Frameworks, IRS Pub. 1075, HIPAA, GLBA, SOC 2, HITRUST, ISO 27001, etc. She has knowledge in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), algorithms, programming, and data analytics. She is proficient in Hindi, Spanish, and Tamil.
Lee Merreot
Lee Merreot CIPP/US, CIPP/E creates, implements, and oversees privacy and security compliance programs for businesses, helping ensure that data privacy and security are considered at the outset of new data partnerships, vendor relationships, projects, products, and initiatives. Lee is seasoned in contract management, providing guidance on potential business opportunities and risks.
Lee’s strategic insights and legal acumen have resulted in cost reductions, streamlined processes, and successful resolution of complex disputes, earning her a reputation as a results-driven legal professional. In her mission to empower businesses to achieve their goals while safeguarding their data assets and reputation, Lee stands as a trusted partner and leader in the ever-changing landscape of data privacy and security.
Lee is a highly experienced attorney specializing in data privacy, security, and incident response. During her tenure as Data Privacy Manager and In-House Counsel at a prominent marketing firm, Lee successfully led the implementation of robust privacy measures, significantly enhancing the company’s data protection framework. Beginning her legal career as a law clerk for a U.S. District Court judge in the Ninth Circuit, Lee honed her analytical and research skills, laying the foundation for her comprehensive understanding of legal intricacies. Lee is an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and has earned her CIPP/US, CIPP/E, and Privacy Professional certifications. She has extensive knowledge and experience in U.S. and global data privacy and protection laws, regulations, and best practices.
